Lesson #3:  What is Biodiversity? 

Biodiversity is a word made up of two parts, “bio” refers to biology and “diversity” means variety. Biodiversity is a measure of biological variety. When scientists like you discuss biodiversity you might talk about the biological variety within a type of organism, the variety of organisms in an ecosystem, or the variety of ecosystems within a region.

1) Write your name on your worksheet.
2) Read through the questions together.
3) Watch the Bill Nye Video below.
4) Answer the questions.

What makes a living thing alive?
